33 rd Annual Surf Fishing Tournament

Congratulations on you interest in the oldest and largest tournament of its kind in New Jersey. Due to the large amount of money involved, and the wide variety of fish and classifications, I strongly recommend that you carefully read these rules governing the tourney. If there are any questions, please ask before catching a fish.

Rules:

• Entry Fee: $10.00/person Non-transferable.
• Boundaries: To the north, The Thunderbird condos in Brick Beach. To the south, the North Jetty in Island Beach State Park.
• Weigh-ins: Will be performed at Betty and Nick’s only. There will be a separate log for all tourney entries. Each angler is responsible for signing in their catch. If the fish is not recorded at weigh-in time, it does not count as an entry.
• Equipment: Fish must be caught on rod and reel.
• Time: Anglers must enter the tournament 48(Forty Eight) hours prior to weighing in a fish.
• Dates: The tournament dates are from March 1^st to December 31^st.
• John Bushell Sr. has the final say on all eligible fish.
• Prizes: 1st prizes will be awarded in cash, all others are gift certificates at Betty and Nicks.
• Fraud: Due to the large amount of prize money involved, any deviation from the truth will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
• Ties: In case of a tie, the fish weighed in first will take precedent.
• Casino Fishing Pier: Any fish caught here will be considered a jetty fish only.
